It all began in the beautiful country of Georgia and its amazing people, full of passion and pride for their country. Living the traditions like they no other culture I have experienced before.
Synonymous for Georgia and Georgians is the “Georgian Dance”, one of the most enjoyable things to see and do. So easy to look at, so easy that you are invited to jump in and dance with the Georgians. No resistance from anybody, but only joy that you are joining.
Joining their culture, their history and their story of conflict over centuries. They always danced and dance the sorrows away for a better future. You feel such a power of positivity, which is deeply rooted in their culture.
I thought to myself, after reflecting my own life, my experiences and the 4 years in Georgia to do the same. To write something easy to read, that everyone understands.
The message is a deeper look into changing someone’s life for a better future. To make sorrows go away. Just like with the “Georgian Dance”.
The inspiration of this amazing journey are the beloved people of Georgia. So ambitious, so willing to learn, so curious to move forward, so hard working. Not only in their jobs, no, also in their lives. It was and is much more for them. It is moving into a different life, deeply rooted in their beliefs of freedom, into a democracy with all that comes with it. Moving into a safe harbor to ensure that the future of their children is secure. A future for their children, very different from their own.
Education comes first. Universities, schools, educational programs, vocational job skill trainings are playing a big role in the future of these children and young talents.
Not only in Georgia, in many countries around the globe it is crucial to educate young professionals as a foundation of a middle class family life. I am so proud of my Georgian co-authors - Ana, Lana and Geno – who share their views in their own words. Truly inspiring!
Democracy cannot succeed unless those who express their choice are prepared to choose wisely. The real safeguard of democracy, therefore, is education.
